Declan McDonogh is very much looking forward to his ride on Euphoric in the Derby on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking about the chances of the 28/1 outsider, the former Irish champion jockey said: "He's a very laid-back horse so I will speak to Aidan tomorrow, I presume we will walk the track and make a plan.

"He's a very, very good ride - he's actually an enjoyable ride, he's so laid-back. He'll enjoy the occasion.

"He's training good and we have seen surprises before. He wouldn't be in the lineup if he (O'Brien) didn't think he was able to compete. It is an open year, anything can happen in the Derby.

"He felt very balanced when I rode him, he definitely has that in his armour. I'm looking forward to the day. If you are not travelling, you are getting bounced around like a ping pong ball (in Epsom). If you travel, it is fine."
