Dawariya wins again for Oxx & Murtagh With the defection of Mafi (finished second at Naas yesterday), just five lined up for the jogforjockeys.ie Handicap, with the 6/4 favourite Dawariya coming out best after the mile and a furlong trip, as the five runners finished in race card order. The winning daughter of Selkirk was following up on her victory at Ballinrobe last time out, where she beat Black Belt by just three parts of a length when sent off the 4/9 favourite. She had a slightly easier time of it here as she tracked the leader, Crystal Belle, in second before moving into the lead two furlongs out. She was pushed along, under Johnny Murtagh, from there and kept on well to score by a length and a quarter from Crystal Morning (5/2) in second. Winning trainer John Oxx said afterwards: "We got away with it as we were a bit worried about the ground. She is a big filly but she seemed to handle it. "She looked high enough in the ratings but she came on a bit from her last run and the small field here helped. "We will run her in another handicap next and see where she ends up. We might not run her on that ground again."
