We had a second County Cork trained winner in as many races at Clonmel as Rodger Sweeney's Danequest took the concluding Main Guard Handicap in the hands of Conor Hoban.
John Joe Walsh was on the mark half-an-hour previous with Cliff House and here in this near two mile one event, Danequest, owned by Sweeney's wife Joan, clung on for victory by a nose over Our Rachael
"That was nice. I thought it was touch and go," said Sweeney.
"This isn't half as far as Dundalk. It's only an hour home tonight.
"If I get a two mile race we'll go again, but if not he'll go for a two mile hurdle. He's running good and straight now after a while."
C.D. Hayes, rider of Fly Round The Bend trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room leaving the back straight.
