Well supported Daintree (morning 20/1, returned 6s) scored for the connections of one-time smart sprinter Up And At 'Em today, landing Dundalk's Find Us On Facebook @dundalkstadium Handicap for trainer Jimmy Coogan and owner Emmanuel Hughes.

Ridden by Wesley Joyce, the three year old daughter of Dandy Man was held up in mid-division, progressed to eventually lead inside the final furlong and score by half a length from Form Of Praise

Afterwards trainer Coogan stated “I’ve trained for the Hugheses a long time and Up And At ‘Em won the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes at Ascot in 1992 for Emmanuel’s mother Annie. We’ve had a lot of success over the years for the family.

“She was a bit slowly away and I thought we were in trouble but fair play she stuck at it well. She might win another little one if the handicapper isn’t too hard on her.”

A leading juvenile of 1992, Up And At ‘Em was subsequently trained by Jack Berry in the UK, finishing fourth in the 1994 Nunthorpe Stakes before later becoming a successful stallion.
