With 14 entries for the Galway Hurdle next Thursday, champion trainer Willie Mullins has plenty of options ahead of one of the feature races at the festival.

Having won the race five times in the last eight years, the stable certainly know what is required to land the prestigious two-mile hurdling prize.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Patrick Mullins shortlisted the yards main fancies, favouring one in particular: "Daddy Long Legs would have been probably the number one hope going through the summer. Obviously he disappointed in Tipperary last time, no obvious reason. Possibly, look it was well watered ground which was fair enough. Maybe he didn't handle it.

"All of his wins have been right-handed and his couple of bad runs have been left handed, no real reason that should be a cause for concern but possibly. If he came back to his best, for me, he is the possible Grade 1 horse in a handicap."

On his last run, Mullins added: "When a run is too bad to be true, you can draw a line through it. I'd forgive him and for me, he is probably our number one chance."

With regard to another, Mullins added: "Williamstown Dancer is one that catches my eye down the bottom of the weights. She is going to get in with a very light weight. She disappointed at Galway last year but she made a bad mistake. Just off 10-4, she won on the flat four or five weeks ago. She just could be unexposed.
