Cut The Mustard registers stylish win in Naas feature The featured BBA Ireland Limited Opera Hat Mares Chase (Listed) at Naas went along expected lines with 1/3 shot Cut The Mustard convincingly putting her four rivals to the sword. Cut The Mustard has a pretty assured method of getting from A to B over her fences, and it looked a matter of barring accidents from some way out. With Paul Townend up in the Sullivan Bloodstock Limited silks, the Willie Mullins-trained eight-year-old took over the running from Tintangle before the fifth. Tintangle had jinked about before the third. Cut The Mustard made a slight mistake five out and was four lengths clear at the next. The daughter of Al Namix travelled best in the straight, keeping on well up the run-in to easily account for Tintangle by six lengths. Gordon Elliott trains the runner-up, and he also has care of third placer Isle Of Destiny. She finished four and three parts of a length back. “Paul said his mare started to follow Tintangle out (at the third) so he thought he was lucky to get away with it,” said Mullins. “Other than that she jumped straight-forward bar a mistake at the fifth last. She's straight-forward and improving nicely. Paul was happy he was going to make all anyway. “We'll try and keep her to mares contests and that kind of trip suits her.” (GC & EM)
