Irish racing takes a mini break with no meeting scheduled until the Curragh on Wednesday and ground conditions look set to remain testing with an unsettled weather forecast.

The Curragh is currently fit for racing with the going described as heavy, although there is a Status Yellow rain warning with the possibility of 15-20mm of rain today and overnight.

Tomorrow is forecast to be dry with further rain expected on Wednesday.

Clonmel hosts a jumps card on Thursday with the going also currently heavy and 20-30mm of rain forecast prior to racing.

Sligo holds it’s final meeting of the year on Friday and the going at the north-western track is described as yielding with approximately 12-25mm of rain anticipated over the coming days.

Today’s meeting at Pontefract became the latest victim of the wet spell in the UK, although there are still four meetings at Windsor, Plumpton, Wolverhampton and Southwell.
