Alan Crowe put in a good performance when getting up in the closing stages to land The John B & Eamon Keane Handicap Chase aboard the Martin Brassil trained Waterville in the familiar colours of J P McManus.
Winning trainer Brassil said afterwards, "I had nearly given up with a circuit to go but all he does is stay. Alan said he jumped a bit high so hopefully he'll keep learning as he goes along. If the ground really dries up we could leave him off and bring him back in the Autumn."
