Creeping Ivy so smooth "She did it easy and I felt as soon as I turned in she was always going to win," reported Oisin Orr after guiding home Creeping Ivy a smooth winner of the opening division of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Dundalk Handicap. Winning trainer Tony Martin is on his way to Australia to supervise Heartbreak City's bid for glory in next week's Melbourne Cup and he'll doubtless be pleased to hear of Creeping Ivy's two length victory over Ondamoura. Creeping Ivy is owned by the Leopardstown Members Racing Club and the Mustameet filly was shedding her maiden tag here at the eighth attempt. "Ondamoura was going well turning in so I decided to track him and just got up his inner," further explained Orr. "Tony has been very good to me this year and has given me plenty of chances. I'm very grateful to him." The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr.W.Fleming, that D.E. Sheehy, rider of Dea Dia, placed fifth, failed to weigh in. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of Mr. Adrian Paul Keatley, trainer of Dea Dia. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 227 and having considered his clean record, suspended him for two race days and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee. Furthermore the horse was disqualified in accordance with Rule 230. (GC & EM)
