Coquine D'aunou impresses at Limerick Coquine D’aunou confirmed the good impression made on her Irish debut at Clonmel earlier this month by landing the Goggin Buckley Mares Maiden Hurdle at Limerick. The daughter of Martaline filled the runner-up spot behind red-hot favourite Crack Mome last time, and went one better here in great style. The Noel Meade-trained 9/4 chance asserted early in the straight, and kept on well under Shane Shortall to beat the odds-on Chambord Du Lys by a comfortable five lengths. Shortall said, “They didn’t go much of a gallop early and I was happy to let her go on. Noel said to keep in mind that she just goes on at the one pace. “She travelled and jumped very well. She’s tough and has a good attitude.”
