Cold Steel (11/4f) registered consecutive wins at Dundalk today, landing the Dundalk Stadium Gift Vouchers Handicap for trainer Andy Oliver, owners Team Valor and jockey Bill Lee.

The American-bred son of Summer Front returned from a 604-days layoff this summer and having won a Dundalk handicap in November, followed up today when beating Riccardi Medici by a neck.

Afterwards Oliver said "it looked competitive and there were horses with plenty of recent form in it. I was a wee bit afraid of the bounce factor, he had been off so long and came back and won.”

He added “everything went well and Billy gave him a nice ride. I thought he was headed within the last furlong, but he came back again which is a good sign of a battling horse.

"I don't think we are going to rush back too soon. He's a lovely looking horse, great size and great body to him so we will probably try and look after him."
