Conquering Coolmore complete Curragh treble Ascot Gold Cup-fourth Emily Dickinson (6/4f) completed a treble for champion trainer Aidan O'Brien and stable jockey Ryan Moore at the Curragh today, landing the Group 2 Comer Group International Curragh Cup. Out of 2013 Oaks winner Chicquita, the Dubawi-sired Coolmore-owned filly's previous wins were in a maiden, Listed and Group 3 races and today raised the bar higher, staying well to defeat Rosscarberry by three lengths. O'Brien, earlier successful with Henry Longfellow and Oaks heroine Savethelastdance, reported “the original plan was that she would go straight to the Goodwood Cup but when the ground changed we said we'd let her take her chance here “Everyone was happy with her at home and that's why she came here. I was a bit worried that she was a couple of pieces of work away but Ryan gave her a beautiful ride and got her very confident.” He added “she loves the ground and loves being ridden like that. With that ease in the ground she's a different filly. She goes on the other ground, she's very genuine and tries very hard, but on that ground she grows another leg. “Ryan was biding his time and he said at the two (furlongs) marker she came alive for him when he wanted her. He gave her a peach, he filled her with confidence. He said going to the start he knew she was different, obviously she loves that ease in the ground. “Maybe we should be a bit careful, we ran her on fast ground and she came out of it very well but she's obviously better on that ground.” Quotes from Gary Carson
