Davy Condon brought up a double when deputising for the unwell Paddy Flood on City Of Doral in the Christmas Cracker Handicap Hurdle. He had earlier scored aboard Hollo Ladies in the opener.
Condon travelled well to turning in on City Of Doral and he led at the last. Strongly pressed all the way to the line he prevailed from Guts For Garters by a length.
In-form winning trainer, Jimmy Lambe said afterwards: "I don't usually do well at this time of year as I have summer types mainly off the flat. However this year I've been sent some nice National Hunt sorts and that's my third winner in the past week (Drumbaloo last Sunday here and Kircassock Vic at Downpatrick yesterday).
"This horse has been fierce unlucky. He ran out in his first point-to-point, won by a nice horse of Edward O'Grady's, Jack Finch. He's got knocks and lost his confidence and he even fractured his ribs in Sligo. He was third in Uttoxeter last time and the form of that race has worked out well. Davy Condon gave him an excellent ride and it's nice to get the win coming up to Christmas."
