Comein Comein struck on just his second start since joining Diego Dias this spring when making all in the Willwego.com Handicap at Down Royal.

Gavin Ryan ’s mount, available at 9/1 this morning and sent off the 4/1 co favourite, got away sharply from a wide draw and held a two lengths advantage at the furlong pole.

The son of Prince Of Lir held on well in the closing stages to beat fellow co favourite Emerald Harmony by half-a-length with Elliott finishing best of all on the outer a length and half back in third.

Ryan said, "They had similar tactics the last day and, when they jumped out there was a lot of pace early on, and I just got caught on the wing a little bit.

"Today, everyone was kind of happy enough to take a lead off me. I got out good and smart and was able to get across to the rail which is a huge help around here.

"I was able to save, save, save coming down over the road and once I committed he was good and tough.

"If anything, he has probably got a little lonely the last furlong and just looked for a little bit of company."

On Make Haste who was unplaced for Dias in the Queen Mary, Ryan added: "It is a very hard place to go to with one run under your belt. She probably didn't learn a whole pile the first day in Naas, she won very easily.

"She jumped very well and got trapped near the pace - she just did too much the whole way. Definitely more races to come from her without a doubt."
