Colenso cheered to the rafters after hat-trick win The progressive Colenso landed his hat-trick at Tramore tonight when running out a gutsy winner of the two-mile handicap hurdle. Danny Mullins jumped out in front on the 7/2 favourite but soon settled him behind the leaders. He tried to make ground up going to the second last on the four-year-old but found his way blocked by a wall of horses and had to switch to the outside. Pat Flavin's charge made a slight error at the penultimate flight but picked up well to challenge at the last. He got the better of One In All In on the run-in and held the late charge of Buttons And Bows to score by half a length. Major celebrations @TramoreRaces as the locally trained Colenso brings up a hat-trick of wins under Danny Mullins for the Flavins and the Miracle Cure Syndicate. pic.twitter.com/oyYXzIm7lo— Irishracing.com Live (@IrishRacing365) May 31, 2019 There were great scenes in the winners enclosure as the Miracle Cure Syndicate welcomed their winner and John Flavin, son of the trainer Pat, said: "They are a great bunch (the owners). That's what it's all about, a local horse and a local winner. “I knew he had to keep improving and improving and fairness to him he has. I haven't done a whole lot with him in between his runs because he has been running a good bit over the last few weeks. “Danny said he was right where he didn't want to be at the top of the hill with a wall of horses in front of him. “He wheeled him out and once he hit the rising ground he just kept going. He met the last right so we are happy out now." (Quotes by Donal Murphy)
