The prospects of racing going ahead at Clonmel on Thursday look bright with the course reported fit for racing this morning although the going is heavy.
The County Tipperary venue has been hit particularly hard by the prolonged wet spell of weather with four meetings having to be cancelled since the end of February.
It is exactly two months since the last meeting went ahead at Clonmel on February 15.
The forecast is for cool and unsettled weather with the possibility of a further 2-5mm of rain prior to racing on Thursday.
Ballinrobe is scheduled to host the first meeting west of the Shannon this year on Friday and the going is sure to be testing there also.
The Mayo venue has been hit with 55mm of rain since last Wednesday with further scattered showers forecast for today and tomorrow.
The going is currently heavy, and all races will be run on the inner loop.
Racing is also scheduled to take place at Limerick on Friday evening where the going is currently described as heavy, soft to heavy in places, and up to 14mm of rain is forecast prior to racing.
