The Sir Mark Prescott trained Clinical landed the opening race, the Princess Elizabeth Stakes (Group 3), at Epsom this afternoon.
The winner, ridden by Luke Morris, was successful on the all-weather at Dundalk last November when taking a Listed contest by the minimum margin of a nose.
It was somewhat easier for the daughter of Motivator today and the winning jockey said: "We wanted to be nice and handy as there wasn't much pace on paper and we were.
"She's really stuck her head out and ground it out well really."
Prescott said: "She was third in this last year, which was a good run, and she won three Listed races in the autumn.
"You can only justify staying in training another year if she wins a Group race, so thank goodness she's done it.
"She's from a very straightforward family and they make training easy - you don't need to be that skilful."
Clinical is now likely to head to Royal Ascot next month. Prescott said: "Mr and Mrs Thompson (Cheveley Park owners) love Ascot and if she's well she'll go for the Windsor Forest Stakes."
The stable suffered a setback when Worthadd could only finish fourth at odds-on in the Investec Diomed Stakes also at Epsom.
