Emperor Claudius made all to notch a hat-trick in the Listed Woodies DIY Celebration Stakes at the Curragh.
The Ballydoyle colt came here having won at Naas last Wednesday and had also scored at Fairyhouse a week previously.
Johnny Murtagh 's mount had to survive a stewards enquiry after drifting slightly left in the closing stages. Barring Decree had chased the winner in the final furlong but was held when squeezed out in the closing stages. Gold Bubbles finished with a flourish to get within half a length of Emperor Claudius at the line.
"He did it well considering he has run three quick races. It takes a bit out of them and he has done well," said part owner Michael Tabor.
