The decision to keep To Choose going at Dundalk is reaping rewards and he followed up last week’s success at the venue with a last to first victory tonight.
Colin Keane bided his time on the 7/2 favourite before making ground up in the straight.
The Tom Gibney-trained gelding came with a well-timed run to challenge inside the final furlong and stuck his head in front in the closing stages for a half-length victory over Poitin
“I was going to let him out three weeks ago!” said Gibney.
“This suited him and he was still in good form so we said why not.
“We’ll have a look and see what’s coming up now.
“It’s great to finish up the season with a couple of wins as we were struggling for ground on and off. It has worked out well.”
