Cheltenham still an option for Flyer A schooling session at Leopardstown could persuade trainer Colin Bowe to send Shantou Flyer to the Cheltenham Festival. Bowe was left deflated after the six-year-old's last run, when he was pulled up in the Ten Up Novice Chase at Navan, but his stable star could still end up competing in the four-mile National Hunt Chase next month. The County Wexford handler told the Irish Field: "I was very annoyed with myself for running him the last day. "I knew after jumping the second fence that he was in trouble and he didn't handle the ground at all. "I haven't ruled out Cheltenham yet - he has won over there and I might bring him to Leopardstown to school over a few fences in a couple of weeks' time. "If that went well, he could still go, but it would be hard to travel on the back of his last run. "We have a month to go and I'd love to run him over there and I suppose if you were to put a line through his last run, he'd be entitled to go. "But we'll see how he gets on at Leopardstown and if he jumped around there well, then there is a chance that he could still go. "He is in the four-miler and that is the race for him."
