Check My Pulse another for Coen In-form Ben Coen enjoyed an all-the-way success aboard Check My Pulse in the opening juvenile maiden at Listowel. The 8/1 shot broke well from stall four in this extended six furlong contest. He hugged the rail turning in and was strongly challenged by Mofakker over a furlong out. The Dragon Pulse colt kept find finding for pressure and stuck to his task determinedly in the final 100 yards. He won by a length and a half from Mofakker (11/4). All The King's Men, the even-money favourite, was a never nearer third beaten two and three quarter lengths by the winner. Wild Bob Cat was withdrawn for refusing to load reducing the field to seven runners. Trainer Andy Slattery said: "He had a lovely run at Leopardstown the first day and it was his first time ever on grass. We fancied him even though he was a big price and he is a nice horse. "All our horses are taking a run as they got no work on grass this year and he's a big horse, 16.1hh, and anything he'll do he will improve. "He is owned by Adrian Costello, son of the legendary Tom Costello, from Co Clare and he is definitely for sale. If he's not sold we could go for a nursery but he will be a nicer three year old. Adrian may want to leave him off, which might be the right thing to do, as he is a nice horse." This was 7lb-claimer Coen's fifth winner in the last week. Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes
