Chally Chute (100/30jf) completed a hat-trick of consecutive wins in the Galway Handicap at that racecourse today, scoring for owner/breeder Julie White, trainer Michael Halford and jockey Ronan Whelan.
A winner rated 60 at Dundalk in September, the son of Fast Company followed up at the Curragh on October 13 and completed his treble rated 76 today, scoring easily from Molly's Gamble
Halford said “I thought he had a sporting chance, being bred the way he is and he has good big feet. He is an improving horse, is fit as a fiddle and we took a chance he'd go through the ground and he did.
“There aren't too many than can win around Dundalk and do that as well and he is a lovely tough and genuine horse. That'll be it now for the year and we'll put him away.”
He added “he is plenty big enough for hurdles and while he has been creeping up the handicap, he has different options. The main thing is he has had a wonderful year and I'm delighted for the owners who also bred him. It is a great thrill for them.
“He is named after Chally Chute who trained horses on the Curragh and Julie's dad rode for him.”
