Castle Wings got his racecourse career off to a winning start by landing the Limerick Racecourse Vets Flat Race under Katie Walsh.
The half-brother to Conna Castle was held up off the pace by Walsh and he looked to have plenty on his plate as he was under pressure approaching the straight.
However the Winged Love gelding stayed on best down the outside from the quarter mile pole and he got to the front inside the final furlong before going on to see off Around A Pound by a length.
Winning trainer Jimmy Mangan said afterwards: "He'll probably go for another bumper now."
