Barney Curley may have been in attendance with his friend Tommy Stack but that trainer's winner of the opener, Cambina was easy to back at 5/1. However she defied the market drift to prevail by a length under Wayne Lordan.
The well-backed In Good Voice (11/2 into 7/2) made a bold bid from the front but in the closing stages the victorious Sue Magnier owned daughter of Hawk Wing got on top with newcomer, Hold The Aces staying on for third.
Stack commented: "She kept at it. She keeps going, staying won it for her."
