The Woodlands House Hotel Adare Flat Race produced a cracking finish with lots of horses in with a shout halfway down the straight.

Outpaced entering the final quarter-mile, The Story So Far looked to have little chance at that stage but the 3/1 chance rattled home down the outside under a strong drive from Ray Barron to beat Remember'hesmine by three parts of a length.

Back in third was 3/10 favourite Cadoudal Saint who had every chance but gave best in the final furlong.

The Westerner gelding, placed in both previous starts, returned to a rapturous reception from the Milkers Syndicate.

"The owners are local to me in Ballingarry so it is great for them," said winning trainer Charles Byrnes

"The horse hit a flat spot turning in and that happened to him in Navan too before staying on. He is an out-and-out three-miler so it was a bonus to win a bumper.

"He is a very nice horse, we bought him as a foal and he'll probably go jumping a hurdle now."
