Apprentice jockey Daryl Byrne was seen to good effect when winning the ‘Tote Trifecta Rollover’ Handicap aboard Strandfield Lady
Byrne moved through the field to join leaders inside the final furlong. The 8/1 shot responded well to a strong drive to get up and lead close home and deny Zerashan by a short head.
Winning trainer Harry Rogers said afterwards: “That was good, he ran a bit free early on. He got the slit at the right time.”
“It’s great for the owner Joseph Byrne, it’s his first time to see the horse win.”
