Cnoc Na Sioga showed the benefit of a run on the level at Wexford on Saturday, to land the Joe Rea Memorial Handicap Chase at Downpatrick, for John Ryan and Andrew Lynch.
Attaining a fourth career win, but a first since May 2013, 10/1 shot Cnoc Na Sioga headed Heavenly Brook at the final fence.
That one wouldn't go down without a fight, but Cnoc Na Sioga had half a length in hand at the line.
Ryan said: "He's a smashing horse and he's won a nice few hurdle races.
"Andrew said he felt a bit sore after the race, when he dismounted, so hopefully he's okay."
B.J. Geraghty, rider of King Leon trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stopped quickly and pulled up.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined King Leon, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a shoe and being lame post race.
