Bride continues progression in Poplar The Willie Mullins-trained Devils Bride emerged on top after a tactically run affair in the Brady Family Ham Supporting Kildare GAA Poplar Chase at Naas. David Mullins produced the Gigginstown gelding to challenge, travelling well, going to the last and he got on top on the run-in from stable-mate Alelchi Inois. The 5/1 shot then had to hold the late renewed charge of evens favourite Sizing Granite by a head in the closing stages. The stewards had a look after the winner came left, across the runner-up, on the run-in but the result stood after the enquiry. Devils Bride was registering his fourth success of the season and following up on victory at Limerick last month. "Everytime I took a pull he was grabbing a hold of it and rubbering with me to the fences and running at them," said David Mullins. "He got a bit tight to the last but he was good at it. He's a lazy sort of horse and just kept finding on the run-in. "That's my first winner when I haven't been able to claim and it's great to get it."
