Brace for Slattery as Pride proves tough Andrew Slattery doubled up for the evening at Dundalk when partnering Elsa's Pride to a gutsy victory in the first division of the 47-65 handicap. The Fozzy Stack-trained filly had been knocking on the door recently and made her first visit to the all-weather venue a winning one. Slattery produced the 7/1 shot to lead inside the final furlong and she held the late run of Redemptive Power by three-parts-of-a-length. Slattery had also taken the opener on Powerful Nation for his father and said afterwards:- “She's very genuine. Her mother acted on the surface and Roaring Lions have quite a good record on the surface in the UK. “She tries hard and it was a lovely race today, we went good and even. That's what she needs as she just keeps galloping. “She ran over a mile-and-six in Killarney and probably didn't quite see it out. She's very effective over this trip when they go a gallop. “When they go well on that surface you have to keep going and I see no reason why she can't keep progressing.”
