Bottler executes Galway plan for Murphy Bottler'secret swooped in the final furlong to claim the Bathshack Maiden at Galway for Colm Murphy. The Dragon Pulse gelding had been fourth on his debut at Limerick in late June and went to post a 3/1 shot in today's mile contest. Dylan Browne McMonagle was rowing away in third on his charge turning for home but he really started to motor in the straight. Bottler'secret chased down Simpson's Paradox in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half winning margin over the 13/8 favourite. "He goes on any ground but really went on that ground today and Dylan was very strong on him and was teaching him as well. He was one we kept for Galway and it worked out beautifully,” said Murphy. "I'm delighted for the lads who are from Portarlington and Kinnegad and bought him as a yearling and they came in with me. I have to compliment them as I didn't want to run him last year as he was backward and they said to do what I wanted. "We brought him back this year, I told the lads we'd have one run before Galway and I really appreciate their trust in me to do that. This was always the plan, we couldn't have asked for any more and we haven't thought beyond today. "He is bred to be a 1m2f-1m4f horse and we're very happy with him." He added:- "When Dot (Love, retired trainer) was training we had a partnership over the years and it has been a lucky place for us. I hope to continue that trend and Dot is doing more now than she ever is. "We have a great partnership and I'm hugely indebted to her for where I am today and she has my back all the time. I really appreciate that and we are a great team." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
