The five-furlong handicap on the card produced another tight finish as Bluesbreaker got up on the line to record a narrow victory.

There were plenty prominent in the early stages of the contest but Shanghai Beauty had a narrow lead on the rail side after a couple of furlongs.

Bluesbreaker had been on her tail throughout and tried hard to peg back the leader inside the final furlong.

The Damian English-trained gelding just found enough in the closing stages to get up on the line for a nose success under Rory Cleary at odds of 16/1.

It was a third win of the year for the gelding who had scored twice on testing ground towards the start of the season.

"I thought he ran a blinder at Naas the last day where the ground was a bit quick. When the ground was starting to dry out this week I was getting a bit worried but Rory said he'd handle it okay,” said English.

"He's a big horse and we need to keep running him or he'll put on weight. Hopefully we can make hay on softer ground at the end of the season."
