Gentle And Kind the even-money favourite, obliged in the extended 2m5f maiden hurdle at Tramore to seal a double for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore.

Blackmore produced her to challenge Silver Gazette two out and both were in there pitching at the last. Gentle And Kind touched down with a fractional advantage and was pushed out to score by half a length from the 10/1 runner-up. Reverend Hubert kept at it in third at 11/2.

The trainer said: "That was good, she had a lovely first run in Kilbeggan. I'm delighted that she stepped forward today and she had to battle.

"It looks like further would suit her. I'm delighted that she won here, as I said earlier we love having winners here.

"She is owned by a Tipperary and England syndicate. They are a great crew and have been very patient with her.

"She got hurt after she won her point-to-point and she definitely wants an ease in the ground. She probably wouldn't want it much better than that. We will enjoy today before making a plan."

Blackmore and de Bromhead also took race two on the card with Whacker Clan
