Bizarre Dreams (5/2f) improved upon a close third in Tipperary at the start of the month to grab her first victory in the Suir Blueway Handicap at Clonmel.

She travelled well for Ben Coen and improved from third to lead a furlong and a-half down. Sweet Verona was the horse she passed but, to her credit, she didn't give best and rallied on the inner of the new leader over a furlong out.

In the closing stages, Bizarre Dreams kept on best to increase the margin to three-parts of a length at the line. Step To Somewhere (14/1) stayed on to get up for second by a head from Sweet Verona (11/1).

Johnny Murtagh said: "She came out of her last race very well, it was a good setup for her today and everything went very well. She got to the front well, but idled a little bit when she got there.

"I thought at the start of the year she would win a race or two for us, but it has taken a while although I'm glad to get her off the mark. We'll keep her busy from now until the end of the year."
