Beauty Amazed relishes step up in trip The three-year-old maiden over the extended ten furlongs saw Beauty Amazed (16/5) get off the mark on his third start in the hands of Gary Carroll. Gelded since finishing fourth over a mile here in November, the American-bred raced in second until coming through to lead inside the final quarter-mile. He stayed on resolutely to beat the eyecatching debutants Zeydar and Grimsby Town by a length and a short head. Shane Lyons, assistant to winning trainer Ger Lyons, commented: “A nice horse and that’s the trip we always thought he wanted. He’s been tipping away over the winter and this extra race they put on was ideal for him. “There is nothing left for the winter campaign so we’ll wait for the grass. He’s a very genuine horse and will be a nice handicapper.” Quotes from Alan Magee
