Keithen Kennedy rode a cool race on Bear Profit in division one of the 1m1f handicap in Foxrock.

The pair raced towards the rear and began to make headway in the final quarter of a mile. Kennedy had plenty of horse under him, but was waiting for room outside the final furlong. He switched out for a gap between horse at the furlong pole and his partner swept through with a winning flourish in the closing stages.

He went on by a very snug two lengths at 11/2. Tyder took the runner-up berth at 25/1 and was half a length in front of Jazz Forever (6/1).

Ger O'Leary said: “I didn’t think he was going to be involved until next thing he arrived. Keithen smuggled him into it.

“He sat his Leaving Cert last Friday after riding a winner here on Thursday night. That’s some dedication.

“We fancied him in Listowel but things didn’t go right, he was very keen.

“He’s a decent horse and I’m delighted for everyone involved.”
