Beacon springs surprise to open account Blazing Beacon sprang a 25/1 shock when wearing down The Hurl on the run-in to claim the Punchestown Event Centre Maiden Hurdle. He probably wants a bit further. "He might have one more try over hurdles, there is a race in Wexford for him where I am chairman of the race supporters committee. "He's a half brother to Blazing Sky, who was one of the best I've ever had."
