Baresi goes in again Baresi, who landed a major gamble at Clonmel earlier this month, made light of a 7lb rise in the ratings when following in with some ease in division two of the three-mile handicap hurdle at Cork. The 9/2 favourite relished this extra half mile, leading two out under Rob Jones and quickly settling the issue by drawing clear to beat Insan Flyer (33/1) by seven lengths. Kilcross Boy (10/1) was just a neck back in third, with Rossa Parks (16/1) finishing fourth. Successful Adare trainer John Long said, “We’ll go for another handicap and hopefully the handicapper won’t be too hard on him.” Long, who has three horses in training, confessed afterwards to having “a few quid on at 7/1 this morning.” The Baresi Partnership is made up of Richie Downes and Barry Healy, both from Pallashenry in Co. Limerick. (Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes)
