A forensic examination will be carried out today to establish the cause of a fire at the home of trainer Aidan O’Brien.
The blaze broke out at the family home of the champion trainer at Ballydoyle in Co Tipperary at about 10pm last night.
A garda spokesman said people were in the house at the time but escaped unharmed.
The roof was extensively damaged before several units of the fire service brought the blaze under control. Investigations are continuing but the cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious.
Joseph O'Brien said at Dundalk this afternoon, "I was in the house at the time, and thankfully we all got out and are safe.
"There is quite a bit of damage done to the house but its nothing that can't be replaced and thank God we are all okay.
"The fire service in Cashel and Cahir both did a great job as well as the Gardai. We are very thankful to everyone that helped us last night."
