She may have finished behind Ibergman when fourth here at the Festival in July, but this time there was no doubting the superiority of Best Not Argue as on her debut in the sphere she landed the James P. Cunningham Electrical Handicap under Colin Keane.
Priced up at 8/1 in an early offering on this seven furlong affair, Best Not Argue eventually went off at four to one, and John Murphy's charge defeated Splashtop by a length.
There was half a length back to the aforementioned Ibergman (2/1 into 13/8) in third.
Best Not Argue headed Ohh Lala in the final furlong before keeping the minor medalists at bay.
"She's a huge filly - she's sixteen two. She's improved with every run and she got a nice mark," reflected Murphy (on the mark with 50/1 shot Cape Discovery at Dundalk yesterday).
"Colin said she was a little bit green in front when they broke, and he held her back a bit because they went a bit furious.
"She ran well here at the Festival, she just got left at the start. We fancied her that day more than today. She will come on for today as well. She is an honest filly and likes good ground."
