Arcenfete now two from two over fences Arcenfete made it two from two over fences, as he led home a 1, 2 for trainer Henry de Bromhead in the Audrey McGrath Memorial Novice Chase. Successful three times in France, the son of Arch was disappointing on his first four starts in Ireland, but showed his true colours when scoring on debut over fences at Roscommon last month. Having opened at 4/1 on-course today, the Gigginstown House Stud owned gelding eventually went off a well-backed 11/4 favourite under Brian Hayes. Sent straight to the front, he was pressed from two out by stable mate Classic Theatre, but went on again when ridden, keeping strongly to score by four and three parts of a length. Classic Theatre (3/1) had to settle for second under Hugh Morgan, while Icario was another four and half lengths back in third. de Bromhead said afterwards: "I'm delighted with that. He jumped way better than he did in Roscommon, and hopefully he is a horse that will keep improving. "He did a piece of work one day and I stupidly entered him in a very good race because he wasn't a novice. "He was very disappointing over hurdles, but thankfully he is showing a bit of what he showed early on now. "I'm delighted with Classic Theatre under top-weight. She ran a blinder and Hugh (Morgan) rode her well. "I'd say the pair of them could turn up now in the Grade 3 at Roscommon (the Kilbegnet) on October 1st."
