Wicklow Brave won as easily as his starting price suggested he should when cruising to victory in the amateur contest at Killarney this evening.
Patrick Mullins took the mount on the 1/25 shot in the three-runner race and after briefly settling his mount in rear he took over after just a furlong.
The 2016 Irish Leger winner was soon clear in the two-mile one-furlong contest and was never challenged after.
Willie Mullins' charge didn't need to come out of third gear in the straight as he cantered to a 25-length success over stable-mate Mary Sun
The winning rider said afterwards:- "It was as easy a winner as I'll ever ride!”
"It was disappointing nothing took him on because these races are important. The last day he won here he beat a horse rated more than a stone behind him finished second.
"It was a pity it was a non-event as it would be a pity to lose these races but that has done his confidence the world of good.
“He'll probably go chasing at some stage - whether it's at Listowel or afterwards I'm not sure but we'll just try to keep winning races with him."
