Another Rebel led home a Mick Winters one-two in Cork's two and a half mile beginners' chase.
The nine-year-old gelding had been off-track for 940 days but made all under Martin Ferris. The pair raced clear throughout but the pursuers closed up at the fifth last.
However, Another Rebel had plenty in the tank as he drew clear again after the second last and came home unchallenged by 12 lengths at 6/1.
Stablemate Vinnie Luck (8/1) kept on for second. Well-backed-favourite Thekingofconnemara (11/10) made several mistakes as he dropped to third.
Jockey Martin Ferris (32) said: "I broke my hand at Tramore and missed 13 months. I damaged tendons which needed a lot of operations and it's been a long old road to get back.
"Opportunities are scarce but I've been schooling for Mick Winters and Eugene O'Sullivan - this win is mighty and I'm also from Mallow which makes it more special.
"I'm doing a few horses myself along with my girlfriend Hillary McLoughlin who has the trainer's licence."
This was Ferris' first winner since August 2014.
