Another Listed success for Tannery The feature race at Limerick this evening the Listed Martin Molony Stakes over 1m 3f went to the David Wachman trained, Wayne Lordan ridden Tannery at the odds of 11/1. This 3yo daughter of Dylan Thomas (second winner at Limerick for the sire after Battle Of Saratoga) won a handicap at Dundalk in April before springing a surprise in the Victor McCalmont Listed Stakes at Gowran last month. Last time out she was beaten into fifth in the Nijinsky Stakes at Leopardstown which was won by Backbench Blues. However she managed to reverse the form with that one today coming with her challenge a furlong from home before going on to score by three lengths. The runner-up was sent off the 6/4 favourite and she wandered about two furlongs out and again after being headed (like she did at Leopardstown last time out) while Defining Year finished a further neck back in third at 5/1 for Mick Halford and Shane Foley. Winning rider Wayne Lordan said afterwards: "They went a good gallop and she travelled really well. She came with one run and picked up very well. "She enjoyed the ground and she is a smart filly. There are loads of those mares, fillies races for her now." Wachman and Lordan were of course recording their second Listed success of the week after winning the Sandringham Fillies Handicap at Royal Ascot on Wednesday with Duntle. Donal Murphy & Thomas Weekes
