The Jessica Harrington trained Annie Oakley arrived with a late challenge and from a long way back to win the Follow Us On Facebook & Twitter Handicap Hurdle at Punchestown today, winning under a fine ride from Robbie Power.

Power held the daughter of Westerner up for much of the trip and while she appeared beaten in fifth place at the final flight, she kept finding more under the Grand National winning jockey, eventually wearing down the leaders to edge past 2/1 favourite Thunder And Roses in the last strides.

Harrington later reported “she has been threatening to do that but never settled at Limerick over Christmas so we put all the kit (a different bit and ear plugs) on today. Getting her settled was the main thing today and she'll make a lovely chaser.”
