Debut point-to-point winner Anglers Crag maintained his unbeaten record when landing the concluding Irish EBF (C&G) Point-To-Point Bumper at Fairyhouse today, scoring for trainer Terence O'Brien and jockey Darragh Allen.

The son of Multiplex won on debut at Ballindenisk in January and today, making his racecourse debut on reappearance, stayed on strongly to beat runner-up Split The Bucket by six lengths.

Afterwards O’Brien reported “to be honest I was hoping for that but we haven’t had a winner for a while and sometimes when that happens the confidence goes.

“He works nicely and won his point-to-point well. He just stays galloping and is a gorgeous big chasing horse.

“He belongs to Derrick Mosson who is after sending me a couple of young horses. He’s based in England so he might go to David Pipe at some stage.

“We might have him for the season and if we do he could go to Leopardstown for a two and a half miles bumper.”
