Nina Carberry enhanced her excellent record since returning to race-riding this week with a third winner from four rides in that period, when landing the concluding Thanks For Supporting Roscommon INH Bumper at Roscommon today on Flawless Escape
Carberry gave birth to baby Rosie Walsh in May and having returned to action with a winner at Ballinrobe on Thursday, followed up with another at Downpatrick on Friday before being beaten into third in the bumper at Navan on Saturday.
Today the dual Champion Amateur Jockey bounced back with another win on Flawless Escape, who easily justified 4/11 favouritism to complete a double on the day for trainer Gordon Elliott.
Flawless Escape’s win was also her first achieved in the colours of her sponsor Tim O’Driscoll, of O’Driscoll-O’Neill Insurance, and following the win, Elliott said “he's a nice horse and is a horse for next year, as he's a big raw, weak horse: as you can see he's massive.
“He had to do the donkey work and go out and make the running. I think he's a nice horse and he definitely won't run in another bumper.”
