Strong-travelling After Rain (10/1) took Killarney's concluding maiden hurdle in good style for Shay Barry and Barry Geraghty.

Geraghty, in the JP McManus colours, made headway coming into the home straight and guided his mount into second at the third last. He travelled well on the bridle to lead on the outside at the penultimate flight.

Although he fiddled the last, Cliffside Park fell which left him to come in nine lengths clear of Mighty Concorde (4/1). Hard Fought the 3/1 favourite, was 26 lengths further back in third. She could make no impression from the third last.

Shay Barry said: "He can be a bit hard on himself but they went a real good gallop which helped. Hopefully he can improve away from that."

This was a fourth winner on the evening for owner JP McManus, three of which came at Kilbeggan.
