Ado McGuinness has enjoyed another successful season with 44 winners already on the board this year and he’s currently making plans to maintain the momentum into 2025.
Like most Flat trainers, McGuinness has been busy at the sales over the past few months and is gathering together a renewed team for the upcoming campaign.
“We have stocked up (at the sales) - we have about 10 or 12 new horses and we have a lot of yearlings in as well. We have six older horses as well, a mixture of both,” said the Lusk handler.
“Some of our horses, the older stalwarts, have reached their sell-by date. We need to stock up and we have.
“It is good to get a couple of nice two-year-olds as well. It is not as expensive as when you have to go out to buy those ‘made’ horses.
"We have a nice bunch of two-year-olds for next year - we would have about 20 - so I'm looking forward to it.”
McGuinness was speaking after saddling a double with Dontspoilasale and Dark Ace at Dundalk on Friday and has also been successful with some of his ‘older stalwarts’ like Comfort Line and Skontonovski on the Polytrack in recent weeks.
