Pat Fahy saddled his third winner in a week when House Rules joined his stable companions Ballybacka Lady and Gaelic Grounds in the winners enclosure by taking the concluding ITBA S/E Region Race Day For Breeders Flat Race at Gowran.
Ridden by Fahy's son Conor (his fifth bumper winner to go with 2 in point-to-points) House Rules cantered into contention from off the pace, he led over a furlong out and he went away to comfortably beat Doctor Henry by six lengths.
Fahy said of his wife Natalie's four-year-old: "We were hoping he'd improved from his Punchestown run. He has improved physically and strengthened up. He had a good enough run there and he had been working fairly impressively.
"We knew he was good and Conor said he just cruised there but he ran around a bit when he got to the front which wasn't surprising. He is our own horse so we'd have to consider an offer if we got one for him."
