There is plenty of Irish interest in the valuable UK All-Weather action this afternoon with 12 Irish trainers sending over a total of 23 horses headed by a quintet of challengers from the Ado McGuinness yard.
The bulk of over £1.6 million in prizemoney on offer at the three UK meetings today is at Newcastle where Elegant Man may hold the best prospects of an Irish success.
Adrian Murray, David Egan and AMO Racing have already enjoyed success this turf season when landing the opening juvenile maiden of the season at the Curragh with Arizona Blaze and the trio again link up with Elegant Man in the £200,000 BetUK All-Weather Easter Classic Middle Distance Handicap (at 4.10pm).
The lightly raced topweight has won twice at Dundalk this winter including an impressive victory over a similar extended ten-furlong distance in January, while Freescape (David Marnane) and Star Harbour (McGuinness) are among his 13 rivals.
The Johnny Murtagh-trained Daamberdiplomat holds solid claims in the BetUK All-Weather Vase Sprint Handicap (3.50 Lingfield) against the McGuinness pair of Apache Outlaw and Dream Today, while Jessica Harrington’s Raknah is another to note in the BetMGM All-Weather Vase Fillies’ Handicap (4.25 Lingfield).
